How to Choose the Right Travel Bag
By trip length
- Day trip: your everyday backpack plus a small sling such as the Arctic Hunter XB00121 (5.5 L, 0.23 kg) for your phone, wallet and tickets.
- 1–2 nights: a duffle or a 30–40 L bag. The Bange BG-1917 is listed at 40 L; the BG2378 at 30 L, expanding to 44 L.
- 3 days or more: the largest bags in the table above, or two bags: a backpack for the laptop and a duffle for clothes.
Backpack or duffle?
A backpack spreads the weight over both shoulders, which matters when you walk from a bus stand or a launch ghat to your hotel. A duffle is easier to pack and unpack and fits under a bus seat or into a car boot. Bags like the Bange BG-1917, listed as two-way duffle and backpack, give you both.
Will you carry a laptop?
Check the laptop size listed on the product page. A typical 15.6-inch laptop is roughly 36 × 25 cm and a 17.3-inch one roughly 40 × 27 cm. Gym and duffle bags without a listed laptop size are not designed to protect one.
Flying?
Airlines set their own cabin-bag size and weight limits, and they differ between airlines and ticket types. Measure the bag and check your airline’s current rule before you fly, especially for the larger models above.
Water-Resistant Travel Bags for Bangladesh Weather
Most of the travel bags above are listed as water-resistant; check the product page of the one you choose. Water resistance protects your clothes and electronics from rain splashes on a rickshaw or a short walk in the rain. It does not make them waterproof, so do not leave them standing in heavy rain or water, and keep electronics in an inner pocket during the monsoon.
Delivery and Returns
Every order is cash on delivery. Inside Dhaka city the courier reaches you in 1-2 days for BDT 70; everywhere else in Bangladesh, Chattogram included, it is 1-3 days for BDT 150.
